I have the honour to report with much regret

the death of Inspector Edmond O'Sullivan of the longkong Folice

Force which took place at the Government Civil Hospital in this

Colony on the loth. instant and to transmit for your information a copy of the report of the Superintendent of the Hospital.

Inspector O'Sulliven's wife only recently

arrived in the Colony from England by the S. S. "Devanha". The

Colonial Secretary, Singapore, had been already asked to inform

Mrs. O'Sullivan that her husband was very dangerously ill, and it

was therefore not considered necessary to communicate with you by

telegraph.
